Thankful even when…

I can’t really believe that we are already in November, but believe it or not, here we are. So, naturally, I’ve been thinking of thankfulness. Yesterday, however, I thought of this topic in a new light, and I wanted to challenge you with the idea as well.

What is the hardest thing in your life to be thankful for? I dare you to be honest with yourself and don’t just answer this question but really contemplate how this difficulty can change you for the better.

I try not to write things that I haven’t first done or experienced myself and posing this question is no different. I’ll probably be chewing on this for a little while, but for now, I can say that my answer to this question leads me to thank God that He is always desiring to mold my character to better reflect His. I pray that I am a willing and compliant vessel in the molding.

What about you?

I Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” We often talk about being in the will of God regarding our physical location, and while obedience to His leading is vital, I love how Paul gives us clear direction in how to be in God’s will regardless of where we are. It’s by giving thanks. This is His will for us.

So as we begin this Thanksgiving month, may we be challenged to be thankful in all seasons.

Happy week, y’all. 🙂
